Dancey, angular...

Very angular and strange sounding, but I like it a lot. Besides sounding dance-ish and 8-bit, it sounds like it has an Eastern Asian vibe with the melodies. I like the slowed-down breakdown also, and how it kicks up again. 9/10, 5/5. - EC

Choose you hero!

It's very short, but that's kind of the point. It actually reminds me of a "CONTINUE?" screen more than it does a character selection screen, but it's still really cool sounding. Again, the music's quality itself is some sort of combination of a Genesis and a NES. Can't go wrong with that. 10/10, 5/5. - EC

Funky Groove Make You Hot?!?!

Sonic reference aside, it sounds like a hot combination of Daft Punk and Yuzo Koshiro. Some of those parts really sounded like Streets of Rage... in a good way, though. Very funky. - EC

Thanks Eraldo! I do love me some funk! :D

I know I sound like an ass-kisser...

But I can't get enough of your work! You're truly a gifted composer, EliteFerrex. A cool, highly danceable electronica track... I enjoyed this one quite a bit. - EC

An even more difficult battle!

Wow, Erich, you're a chiptune genius! Very carefuly orchestrated, with lots of dynamics and catchy melodies. It feels like it was from an old arcade space shooter from the early '90's, at least to me. Very cool and very well written. Big thumbs up. - EC

EliteFerrex responds:

Ideally, I'd love to see this used in a high-speed scrolling shooter, or a game like Megaman. Thanks for the review, and I'm glad you liked it!

Very difficult battle! I'm going to need a guide!

Very nice, and I dig that bass line! I enjoyed the harmonized layers of melodies. It was made into a guitar instrumental, it would be absolutely killer. Unlike a lot of other 'chiptune' songs on Newgrounds, this song actually sounds like it could be from a dusty. forgotten gem for a classic console. It sounds like the bastard child of a Genesis and an NES, and I like it! Easily one of my favorites as of late. Keep 'em coming, Erich! - EC

EliteFerrex responds:

This one's one of my favorites, too. I'm happy to see you visited more than one of my songs! ^^

It's cool, but...

...It was a bit on the repetitive side, even for this kind of music. The bass drum pattern (at least until 1:31) was kind of irritating in my book. The old school sound effects were cute, but they also kind of grew annoying after a while. The song is still cool, and it is pretty good for a first attempt at chiptune music, but it still needs work. -- EC

Modern masterpiece

Finally, after years since its original recording in 2004, the original version of Norihiko Hibino's masterpiece "Snake Eater" is released. After its initial recording, it was discarded for unknown purposes, resulting with Cynthia Harrell taking over vocal duties. But, after six years of absence, it's back. Critics agree that it's the far superior version. 10/10. - Danni
